Dr. Cotton has provided psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults in acute inpatient and outpatient settings. He has also provided clinical supervision for people training in doctoral clinical psychology.
His experience includes directing programs in inpatient treatment and residential child-caring environments. He has consulted with child protection agencies, medical and surgical hospitals, treatment centers, and faith-based and social outreach programs.

Dr. Cotton has also taught psychology at both the undergraduate and graduate level, including serving as adjunct professor in Psychology at Mississippi College since 1999. That educational work sits alongside practical experience in program leadership, consultation, and collaboration.
Dr. Cotton is a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) practitioner.
